Using a roller to paint furniture can give you a smooth, professional-looking finish.

Here are top tips to help you master the art of roller painting on furniture:

Choose washable and reusable rollers from Staalmeester for optimal results.
Use a roller tray, making sure the roller is thoroughly coated with paint before gently rolling off any excess on the tray’s inclined section.
Avoid too little paint, which necessitates extra pressure, or too much, leading to an unwanted “orange peel” effect.
Aim for even coverage by painting in straight passes, following the grain of the wood, from start to finish. Keep the pressure light on the last passes.
Smooth out any textures with a Staalmeester spalter brush.
Applying an extender and a light spray of water can provide additional time to perfect this method.
